Faith Offering

Faith offering next weekend.  Please bring food items. The Faith offering will continue to be taken up on the 2nd full weekend of each month.  There also will be a basket in the Parish Hall if you want to bring items at another time.   

 Please note:  The church office will be closed next Friday due to the 4th of July Holiday. 

 

ADFAC will be collecting school supplies for low income families from July 6th through August 10.   There is a list of supplies needed in the bulletin and on the bulletin board.  Monetary donations will be accepted through July 6th. 

 Administration Building

We are trying to finish up the work in the basement of the Administration building by the beginning of September, in time for Religious Ed.   If anyone can come on Saturdays to help out please call the church office.  We also need people to prepare lunch for the workers. 

 

Fun Fair

Mark your calendars for the Fun Fair on Saturday September 12.  We need everyone’s help.  We need auction items, new or almost new, in good shape (clean and workable).  Check your attic, basement, or closet.   You may start bringing them in anytime now.  If you have any questions, please call the church office. 

 

Altar Servers

WE ARE IN NEED OF ALTAR SERVERS, especially on Sunday mornings.  (adults or children, 4th grade & older)

Chili’s restaurants “Give Back Night” for Catholic Charities is July 7. Present the Chili’s Give Back Night coupon at any Chili’s in East Tennessee on the first Tuesday of the month, between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., and Chili’s will donate 10 percent of your purchase back to Catholic Charities! Coupons are available at www.ccetn.org.

 

Catholic Charities’ Crazy Quilt Friendship Center, serving the rural poor in the Newcomb/Jellico area, welcomes contributions for its children’s summer day camp, the Mountain Arts Program, July 6-10. In addition to crafts and other activities, children receive a nutritious lunch and are provided with back packs, classroom supplies, shoes and clothing for the coming school year. Catholic Charities’ Office of Immigrant Services provides low-cost immigration legal assistance for those who cannot afford an attorney.  Services include status adjustments, petitioning for family members, citizenship and naturalization, and translation services. Program is accredited by the U.S. Bureau of Immigration Appeals. For more information contact Nathaly Perez at 865-971-3550.

 

Special event committees are now forming.  Please contact your local Catholic Charities of East Tennessee office if you are interested in participating.  Volunteers are needed to assist in the planning of the 2010 Serve One Another Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament and Social Event. If you are interested in helping, please contact Mary Phillips at mlphillips@charter.net.

 

Summer items are needed for the boys and girls of the Columbus Homes programs. These items include but are not limited to hair brushes, body wash, deodorants and other hygiene products, and flip-flops. If you can help contact Angela Schoenrock at 323-2809 or angelamc@ccetn.org.  Also needed is  7 adult-sized bicycles for its male clients.

 Catholic Charities’ Pregnancy Help Center is in dire need of, sizes 4, 5, and 6, as well as training pants such as Pull-Ups.needed are shoes and summer clothing for children up to size 5T. If you can help, please contact Mary Beth Unthank at (865) 212-4942.
