Ash Wednesday
This Wednesday, February 25 is Ash Wednesday. Mass will be at 9:00am and 7:00 pm. Mass at St. Joseph’s 7:00pm
Lenten Penance Services
We are not holding a penance service during Lent this year. Father John will hold extra confessions. We encourage you to attend Penance Services in the area, which are: St. Joseph’s March 11, 7:00pm, St. Mary’s March 12, 7:00 pm., All Saints in Knoxville, April 6, 7:00pm.
Stations of the Cross
Stations will be held every Friday during Lent at 7:00 pm, at St. Therese and St. Joseph. This week St. Joseph’s will be 7:30 pm.
Operation Rice Bowl
As part of our faith community’s Lenten observance, we will participate in Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten program, Operation Rice Bowl. Since 1975, Operation Rice Bowl has inspired Catholics in the United States to pray, fast, learn and give as we increase our understanding of our global community. We will connect this understanding with the principles of Catholic Social Teaching throughout our Lenten journey. We encourage you to participate in Operation Rice Bowl at home with your family and loved ones.

Bishop’s Ordination
Our new Bishop will be ordained on March 18th at 2:30pm at the new Knoxville Convention Center. There is a sign up sheet in the church hall for anyone who is interested in attending. We will try to work out carpooling. If there is enough interest, we possibly could get a bus. There may be a small charge to ride the bus.

Catholic Charities needs volunteer facilitators for its Parenting Education Seminars. Facilitators must have a minimum one year of college, college degree preferred. Seminars are once a week for four weeks, three hours per session. Times to determined by facilitators. Interested volunteers should contact Parent Place at 865-971-3570.

Singers interested in studying and performing Gregorian chant, English chant, and polyphonic works are invited to rehearse with the Pope Benedict XVI Schola, which meets most Thursday nights at Holy Ghost Church near downtown Knoxville.
