Altar Servers

We are in need of altar servers especially on Sunday mornings. If anyone (adults or children, 4th grade & older) are interested, please call John Thais at 463 0741 or the church office.

Ministry Schedule

We have sent out the new ministry schedule by e-mail. If you do not have e-mail please pick up your schedule in the back of the church. If you have not received the new schedule please call the church office.

If you would like to send a card to Betty Durbin, who is in Windwood Healthcare. Please call the office for the address. She would enjoy receiving cards from her church family.

The Choir is in need of some people to Join them. They especially need people who can cantor, especially for the Sunday morning Mass.

Mark your calendars: The Family/Parish Life Committee will be sponsoring an “End of Summer Celebration” on Sunday, August 24th after the 11am Mass. Everyone is invited. More details to come.

As you can see our prayer list is quite long. Please make sure you let us know if we can remove your loved ones name.

The people of Holy Ghost parish cordially invite you to a Mass of Thanksgiving on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Dedication of an First Solemn Mass at Holy Ghost Catholic Church Friday August 25th 2008. The Mass is at 6pm at Holy Ghost Church. Dinner following Mass at the Knoxville Convention Center. RSVP for the dinner (call 865 522 2205) Monday – Friday 9am-4:30pm by August 8th. Adults $12.50, children under 12 are $5.50.

Come join the fun at the Green Tie Charity Event on Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Sunsphere as we kick-off the Irish Festival. The semi-formal Green Tie Charity Event is $75 per person, 8pm-11pm. The Irish Festival of Knoxville is Saturday, July 26, 2008, 10am-10pm. $10 for adults and kids are free!

Sacred Heart Cathedral is sponsoring a pilgrimage to visit historic Roman Catholic sites in England from April 21st through May 2nd 2009. Highlights of the pilgrimage include Canterbury, Salisbury, Lincoln, York, Bath, and Glastonbury. Four days will also be spent in London, where pilgrims will visit Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, the Brompton Oratory, Tyburn, St. Albans, and the Tower of London. The cost of the pilgrimage is between $3575 and $4150 depending on the number of pilgrims. Deposit of $500 is now being accepted to reserve a place. Join us for the 6th Annual Catholic Scouting Retreat coming up on August 16-17, 2008! The retreat is sponsored by the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting. The theme for this year is Catholics: Proclaiming Salvation for All, inspired by the verse “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” (Isaiah 56:7). Anyone ages 13 and older may attend, including Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and non Scouts. Come prepared to hike and camp. All events will be held at GMSC Camp Pellissippi off of Norris Lake.
